10,000 Women's Programme / Start Up/ Incubator Centre for UMIT Alumnae
About 10,000 Women's Programme it is a world wide programme fully sponsored of Goldman
Sach. In this an applications are invited from business Women with the turnover from 5 lacs to 75
lacs. One week classroom training is give to them with respect to basic of business management,
theoretical concepts of market, opportunities etc. After a week of training they go back to their
business and apply the things they have learned. To each of them a mentor of the same jurisdiction
will be allotted. After the gap of one month the next module of one week would be there. Here they
will be given the class room teaching of business laws, government organizations to deal with,
vetura capitals, dealing with banking and labour sector etc. Candidates will again get back to
business to return for the third and the final week module. They will be asked to prepare the
expansion version of their business proposals. This will be evaluated by a panel of experts and first
three of four will be given appreciation certificates. Mentor will be tied to the candidate for next six
months. And the status of the business has to be reported to the centre. It has been observed that
almost 80 to 90 % of the candidates business is grown by about 35 to 50%.
Please note that business could be anything and need not be only technology.
Other plan is a one week course for the start ups. After serving for many years in industry there is
thinking in everyone’s mind to have your own business. The course will detailing with what are the
requirements to start business, the registrations to be done, certifications from government
organizations, Information of financial Institutions to sponsor/support business etc.
