Dr. Sakeena Shora, an audiologist and speech therapist from spectrum healthcare clinic gave us insights on the topic. Dr. Sakeena introduced the seminar with a brief introduction of the basics the human ear, structure, functioning and mechanism of hearing. Further ahead she explained the importance of the sensory organ. The Ear and the Brain work in integrity to hear, understand, reply to the speech. The problem statement of the seminar was what do we mean by hearing loss, impairment and deafness and how does it cause and when should one visit an audiologist.
