The goal of the department is to establish state of the art computing environment to develop competent computer engineers imbibed with the spirit of professionalism and responsible citizenship. The department emphasizes the vision of the Usha Mittal Institute of Technology for excellence in education. Highly qualified, dedicated faculty and good infrastructure facilities make this dream realizable. Vision To become one of the finest centers of learning by nurturing the learners with Computer knowledge, programming skills, software development and research skills along with the human values of confidence and compassion so as to be at par with the ever changing scenario of the software industries. Tech in Computer Science and Technology PhD in Computer Science & Technology Programme Objectives To create the right learning ambience for learners to become proficient with software technology and programming. To enable the undergraduates and postgraduates to gain the conceptual knowledge of computer engineering to help them to opt for higher education confidently. To motivate the learners to seek challenges to exhibit their managerial skills with sustainable, social and ethical outcomes. Best practices & Salient Features The Department has a rich infrastructure with requisite number of computing facilities and network infrastructure to cater to the need of latest technology. In order to keep up the cutting edge technologies, the department has introduced many electives related to recent technology like Data Science, Deep Learning, Cyber Security etc. All the labs in the department are connected with the campus networking of 1 Gbps line. The students are focused with the use of conceptual understanding of core domain areas in computing as well as enhanced programming skills disseminating their analytical abilities. Students are provided with lifelong learning and leadership skills that enable them to grow in their professions and advance to positions of responsibility by effective Industry-Institute Interaction. The Department has the best academics, excellent placement records and the students of the department have been placed in multinational companies for their professional careers. 10% of the students have joined Postgraduate studies abroad in prestigious Universities in US, Canada, Europe, etc. Alumnae of the Department after gaining professional experience have started their startups and are doing very well in their business. Successful alumnae are now mentors to some of the students. The Department is also successfully running Post Graduate and PhD programs and successfully running since the last 8 years.
