Ethics and plagiarism are the important components in the research and publication. Sometimes it is observed that researchers claim others work as their own, which will degrade the reputation of the institution. The research work of faculty / students in the form of papers/projects must go through the process of plagiarism and has to maintain high academic standards. Apart from this, the committee takes extra measures to ensure that the work is at par with the national / international standards. Every Research Scholar of the institute has to check his / her final papers /projects /publication / thesis using Plagiarism checker Software. CE is a relatively new branch at Usha Mittal Institute of Technology (UMIT) as compared to the other branches as it was established in 2020.The syllabus of CE is designed by academic experts and elective subjects are chosen based on state of art research and industry requirements so that students can compete and excel in the outside world. The institute has all the resources such as laboratories, books, and faculty required for the CE branch. The overall development of students including qualities such as decision making, leadership, and team management is achieved by the participation of students in various student councils. The mission of the department is to provide a strong foundation in fundamental subjects to aspiring students of engineering and to empower them to face real time challenges of the professional world. By facilitating the process of helping budding engineers expand and upgrade their knowledge the department acts as a valuable collaborative partner to other Departments of the Institute. The department foots in fundamentals to help the students keep themselves abreast with the dynamic world of engineering and prepares them to transition from the college to the corporate world. A dedicated group of highly qualified and motivated teachers act as mentors and facilitators to provide the much needed scaffolding and hand holding to the young first year students of engineering. The faculty is supported by experts from the academia and industry in providing a dynamic and learner centric teaching learning experience to the students. All the courses are taught using the blended mode with the use of ICT tools to enhance learner experience. The faculty members of the department have been extensively using the Moodle as a learning management system since 2015. Computer Society of India is the first and largest body of computer professionals in India. It has 71 chapters across India, 418 student branches, and more than 90,000 members. Usha Mittal Institute of Technology being a part of C.S.I. Mumbai Chapter organises various events and workshops throughout the year under the guidance of CSI Mumbai Chapter. Council and Committees Gallery Formed in the year 1965, the Computer Society of India is the first and the largest body of computer professionals in India. Today, CSI has 72 chapters all over India, 511 student branches, and more than 100,000 members.The CSI UMIT chapter was formed in 1998 and it has been instrumental in providing students with wholesome technical experience. The past 17 years stand witness to numerous students of the institute benefit from this association. We currently have about 90 members who are a part of CSI-UMIT. Every year we conduct fests, workshops, industrial visits and seminars to keep the students updated about the ever-evolving technology. We also publish a yearly technical magazine called ‘Paradigm’. CSI UMIT has been an active part of TechNext India an annual academic national conference and awards for academia, organized by CSI Mumbai chapter and hosted by IIT Bombay.
