    Well established department of Computer Engineering at Usha Mittal Institute of Technology Computer Engineering CE CE 1/1 Links Departments Faculty STTP/FDP/Workshops Conducted Faculty Participation in STTP/FDP Projects Student Achievement Computer Engineering(CE) is one of the core and high in demand ( both by the industry and students) branches of Engineering, having lots of vital career opportunities like programming , network architecture , data analysis, database administration , cyber security, machine learning , system analyst, information system manager, web developer, data scientist, blockchain developer to name a few. CE is a relatively new branch at Usha Mittal Institute of Technology (UMIT) as compared to the other branches as it was established in 2020.The syllabus of CE is designed by academic experts and elective subjects are chosen based on state of art research and industry requirements so that students can compete and excel in the outside world. The institute has all the resources such as laboratories, books, and faculty required for the CE branch. The overall development of students including qualities such as decision making, leadership, and team management is achieved by the participation of students in various student councils. In the last two years, students of the CE branch have shown their excellence in academics as well as other activities such as cultural, sports, etc. Students of CE have won prizes in various fashion shows, dance competitions, intra-college box cricket, etc. Students have also proved their technical competence by winning national level hackathons and publishing technical research papers.     Different rules and regulations to be followed at Usha Mittal Institute of Technology Rules and Regulations General Rules Attending Lectures / Labs Students coming late to the Institute will not be allowed in the classes. Bunking classes is not allowed in any case. In order to monitor the academic progress as well as the overall development of our students, we nominate one staff member as Class Advisor to whom students can approach for guidance. The students as well as their parents are welcome to contact the Class Advisor any time during the session (with prior appointment). While the lecture or the lab is in progress, a student is supposed to keep her mobile phone switched off failing which severe punishment can be given. Prohibition of Ragging Ragging within or outside the institute is strictly prohibited. Whoever student directly or indirectly participates in, abets or propagates ragging within or outside the institute shall face strict disciplinary action as per the provision of Maharashtra Prohibition of RAGGING ACT, 1999. Office Discipline Students are advised to look at notice boards for various circulars/notices etc. displayed regarding payment of fees, commencement of examination and other matters of academic interest. Whenever dates have been given for payment of Tuition Fees/Exam Fees etc. students should pay the fees well before the last date. This will avoid penalties as well as inconvenience to them. Students should not come to the Office for Railway concession or any other matter while their theory classes /practical are in progress. Further, whenever they come to Office, they should maintain proper discipline and decorum and they shall always follow the Queue system and shall not crowd near the counters and should not block main entrance & exit points. Picnics & Outings Students will not be permitted to organize/participate in private picnics/outings even on Sundays/Holidays without the written consent of the college Principal. All picnics/outings have to be authorized and accompanied by college staff. Any failure to comply with the rule will lead to strict action. Internet Usage Students are required to use the internet facility only for academic purposes and not for any other purposes like chatting. Misuse of this facility and tarnishing the image of the Institute or the faculty members on social networking sites will be liable for punishment and strict action. Theft Students found stealing other’s property or institutional property will be severely dealt with. If the institutional property/facility is damaged/stolen, the entire batch of students will be penalized and the cost will be recovered as deemed fit. Suggestion Box The suggestion box is provided by the Office. The students can use it for their problems, suggestions, complaints etc. Principal’s Signature Students should come to the Principal's Office for signature or for attestation during the recess time or only after their theory classes/practical are over. The above conditions are as per the Rules & Regulations of the Institute and all students should strictly follow them. Strict action will be taken against the student, if she fails to observe them. Any matter not covered by these Rules will rest at the absolute discretion of the Principal. UMIT faculties and students are the members of IIC UMIT. The goal of IIC is to promote different activities associated with the innovation, entrepreneurships, IPR and startup. These activities motivates and helps students to participate in various innovation related competitions organized by MHRD. The quarterly meetings are conducted by IIC UMIT cell to plan and review the quarterly activities. UMIT’s IIC helps students to experiment latest technologies to get some prototype for building their confidence. So the students of UMIT get suitable environment to bring their ideas into reality. Vision IIC UMIT visions to cultivate a culture of creative thinking in the young women students by conducting various activities. The goal of the department is to establish state of the art computing environment to develop competent computer engineers imbibed with the spirit of professionalism and responsible citizenship. The department emphasizes the vision of the Usha Mittal Institute of Technology for excellence in education. The students are focused with the use of conceptual understanding of core domain areas in computing as well as enhanced programming skills disseminating their analytical abilities. Students are provided with lifelong learning and leadership skills that enable them to grow in their professions and advance to positions of responsibility by effective Industry-Institute Interaction. The Department has the best academics, excellent placement records and the students of the department have been placed in multinational companies for their professional careers. 10% of the students have joined Postgraduate studies abroad in prestigious Universities in US, Canada, Europe, etc. Alumnae of the Department after gaining professional experience have started their startups and are doing very well in their business.
