In order to achieve this ,Syllabus of the department is designed with the help of Industrial experts who are members of Board of studies and reflects state of art technology. We Conduct programs with advanced subjects which are trending at International levels . Department of electronics and communication promotes projects which are Based on latest hardware and software technology. Hardware projects are based on current technologies like IOT , Robotics , VLSI etc. Software projects are based on machine learning, data science and its applications. We use Open source software for developing most of these projects and as an outcome our students are industry ready. Department gives special emphasis on Research. Currently more than 10 students are pursuing their PhD under the department. The research has always been fruitful and has lead to several publications in International and national journals and conferences. It has also lead us to win an award at Avishkar 2019-20 which was won by our PhD student Shreya Bokare. Students of Second year ENC and EE have secured 18th Position in Toycathon 2021 , which was held under Modi Government’s initiative of made in India. Students of final year have also won first prize in Embedded system category of 5th National Level IEEE project Competition 2020-21 . We are having collaborations with industry and academia . Guidance and expert talks are arranged for students and staff to make them aware of current technology trends . Sports and cultural events and various technical societies groom the overall personality of students. With all the inputs from various sources and great efforts of our teachers results in excellent placement statistics and internship opportunities for students. The students are getting placed in excellent industries with great pay package. Many of them are pursuing post graduation in India and abroad at top universities. Quality assurance is the prime focus of the UMIT. Six undergraduate programs viz. Ethics and plagiarism are the important components in the research and publication. Sometimes it is observed that researchers claim others work as their own, which will degrade the reputation of the institution. The research work of faculty / students in the form of papers/projects must go through the process of plagiarism and has to maintain high academic standards. Apart from this, the committee takes extra measures to ensure that the work is at par with the national / international standards.     Different rules and regulations to be followed at Usha Mittal Institute of Technology Rules and Regulations General Rules Attending Lectures / Labs Students coming late to the Institute will not be allowed in the classes. Bunking classes is not allowed in any case. In order to monitor the academic progress as well as the overall development of our students, we nominate one staff member as Class Advisor to whom students can approach for guidance. The students as well as their parents are welcome to contact the Class Advisor any time during the session (with prior appointment). While the lecture or the lab is in progress, a student is supposed to keep her mobile phone switched off failing which severe punishment can be given. Prohibition of Ragging Ragging within or outside the institute is strictly prohibited. Whoever student directly or indirectly participates in, abets or propagates ragging within or outside the institute shall face strict disciplinary action as per the provision of Maharashtra Prohibition of RAGGING ACT, 1999. Office Discipline Students are advised to look at notice boards for various circulars/notices etc. displayed regarding payment of fees, commencement of examination and other matters of academic interest. Whenever dates have been given for payment of Tuition Fees/Exam Fees etc. students should pay the fees well before the last date. This will avoid penalties as well as inconvenience to them. Students should not come to the Office for Railway concession or any other matter while their theory classes /practical are in progress. Further, whenever they come to Office, they should maintain proper discipline and decorum and they shall always follow the Queue system and shall not crowd near the counters and should not block main entrance & exit points. Picnics & Outings Students will not be permitted to organize/participate in private picnics/outings even on Sundays/Holidays without the written consent of the college Principal. All picnics/outings have to be authorized and accompanied by college staff. Any failure to comply with the rule will lead to strict action. Internet Usage Students are required to use the internet facility only for academic purposes and not for any other purposes like chatting. Misuse of this facility and tarnishing the image of the Institute or the faculty members on social networking sites will be liable for punishment and strict action. Theft Students found stealing other’s property or institutional property will be severely dealt with. If the institutional property/facility is damaged/stolen, the entire batch of students will be penalized and the cost will be recovered as deemed fit. Suggestion Box The suggestion box is provided by the Office. The students can use it for their problems, suggestions, complaints etc. Principal’s Signature Students should come to the Principal's Office for signature or for attestation during the recess time or only after their theory classes/practical are over. The above conditions are as per the Rules & Regulations of the Institute and all students should strictly follow them. Strict action will be taken against the student, if she fails to observe them. Any matter not covered by these Rules will rest at the absolute discretion of the Principal. The Council strives to solve the students' problems by acting as a liaison between the students and the faculty. Council and Committees Gallery The Student Council is the main student body of UMIT. It aims to produce student leaders with the potential to embark on dynamic leadership roles involved in cultural activities, advising on rules and regulations, organization of events reinforcing teamwork and leadership. It is an elected body whose objective lies in serving the college community by representing the students and has the responsibility of integrating academics and the co-curricular sphere of students life. Throughout the year, they conduct various cultural activities and consider every event as an opportunity to learn new skills.
